Wedding flower trends for summer

From bright bouquets to hanging installations, we’re calling this summer’s biggest wedding flower trends.

WEDDING FLOWER BOUQUETS

The latest trending bridal flowers are among the most classic and elegant: hydrangeas, peonies and (duh!) roses.

As for style, wedding flower bouquets are going bigger and better, with unstructured, looser forms. This relaxed arrangement has been on our radar for a while now, and we love it for its romantic, boho appeal. Fresh and interesting in its unrefined shape, this bouquet works well for any wedding – but it’s particularly popular with ‘carefree’ brides.

WEDDING FLOWER COLOURS

Our two hottest wedding flower palettes of the season are pretty bloomin’ different.

Burgundy’s been a big player in weddings this year, as the centrepiece of many wine-coloured bridal bouquets. Offset by beautiful brights – including hot pink, orange and yellow – this palette is incredibly striking against white.

Though deep and dynamic colours are gorgeous, you can never overlook a timeless pastel palette. Pretty posies are especially delicate when made up of soft pinks, purples, whites and creams, and are better suited to brides seeking a classic, enduring arrangement.

WEDDING FLOWER INSTALLATIONS

The suspension of lush foliage, beautiful greenery and stunning flowers is becoming a key feature in many contemporary weddings, with installations hanging everywhere – from ceilings, to archways, to existing structures.

Lending a touch of mystic whimsy to any wedding, these stunning installations have an incredibly immersive effect – transforming your ceremony or reception venue into a magical, fairy tale world.

A truly considered installation will take all aspects of your reception venue into account, building on the established architecture to create something structural and unique. If you’re planning to go big on your wedding day with some hanging florals or a built-in arrangement, make sure your florist is making the most of what’s already in the space.

WEDDING FLOWER THEMING

Rustic, textural weddings are in, with many couples seeking flowers to complement wood, jute and hessian. The good thing about this rustic look is that it suits many themes – from cute, vintage weddings to sprawling, country weddings to relaxed, beach weddings to elegant, forest weddings.

This rustic look also looks great across multiple applications, including wooden centrepieces, wedding easels, chalkboards and crates.
